Make blog page password protected

nathannathan Lifetime Member
I am trying to password protect my posts page, but even though I set the page to be password protected it is not asking for a password. Is there some code I need to add to apply it to the posts page/blog template?

Thanks for the help!

The way it works with WordPress is you have to set the password on all posts - unfortunately you can't just set it on the area containing the blog posts. Every post read would require re-entering the password.

Otherwise you'll have to look to plugins like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/members/ - to handle it via user accounts.

Or something like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/password-protected/ - password protects your whole site, you could either do that or create a separate WordPress install mini site only for the blog and password protect it.

oh that kind of sucks, thanks for the help, having it on every post would not be good. This is just for a personal website so password-protection plugin will do for now.
